Islands for Sale Thailand

Koh Daeng

Koh Daeng is completely undeveloped and uninhabited, sitting off the coast of Krabi. The island is 28.5 kilometres minutes south of Krabi International Airport, 1.5 kilometres from Laem Kruad Pier and 15 kilometres from Lanta Noi island. There is a stunning golf course nearby, which has been created from a lithite mine.

Krabi is one of Thailand's most natural tourist zones. Phi Phi island and Phuket can easily be reached by boat from Koh Daeng, which means 'red island' in Thai.

The island has a small hill at the top end, with three inland lakes, one freshwater, and a rocky coastline with mangrove swamps surrounding two-thirds of the island. It has its own freshwater resource.

The total area of the whole island is 581 rai (approx 230 acres). The area zoned for development is about 100 rai, complete with full chanote land title. The buyer would, in effect, be buying the entire private island, as no one else can get access to the land. The island has been owned by the current owner for 30 years.

There is ample water under the island, and a well has already been dug that provides plenty of water year-round to supply a resort. There is also a small dry dock which the previous owner installed to service his yacht. The owner is also offering a further small section of land on the mainland with its own jetty. The island and surrounding area is famous for its deep waters which are suitable for yachting and is a very popular diving area.

The valuation process has been completed and potential buyers can be supplied with Price on Application (POA). With the island also comes a private pier and a small piece of land on the mainland adjacent to the island.

The island was untouched by the December 2004 tsunami, as it was sheltered by the large island at the mouth of the bay.

Koh Rang Yai

Shaped like a dolphin, Koh Rang Yai is a private island in paradise just off the coast from Phuket. It is uninhabited except for a small pearl farm and a restaurant. It can be easily reached from Laem Hin Pier by long-tail boat, which is 20 minutes away and skirts around another island, Koh Maprao, or coconut island. The sea here is usually very calm.

The island is on the east coast of Phang Nga Bay and has around a kilometre of sandy beach with beautiful, clear inviting water. The beach on the east coast is ideal for swimming. There, you can also sit in the shade of coconut trees. There are a few deckchairs on the beach and a handful of eating places.
